Video: ‘Xenoblade Chronicles X’ E3 2015 trailer

Xenoblade Chronicles X, already available in Japan, comes to North America for the Nintendo Wii U on December 4.

It’s obvious that an epic role-playing game (RPG) title like Xenoblade Chronicles X would make an appropriate Christmas present. Monolith Software, the game’s publisher, unveiled the North American release trailer recently at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).

This is a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles, but the stories are not connected.

The game plays differently from Xenoblade Chronicles as the special E3 demonstration video shows. If you have played anything like Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy XIII, .hack//G.U, or Sword Art Online, then you may get the gist of playing Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is an action-based RPG that is in a free world.

If you have watched and liked Knights of Sidonia, then you may want to play Xenoblade Chronicles X because they have similar stories.

In Xenoblade Chronicles X, two warring alien races decided to battle on Earth’s front door.

Earth’s forces tried to put up a resistance, but fail miserably.

The governments of the world ultimately realize that Earth will be royally f—ked and decide to do the next best thing, leave before the planet blows up. Like Knights of Sidonia and Trigun, the humans leave leave Earth in seed ships.

Xenoblade Chronicles X focuses on the “White Whale,” one of those seed ships.

But one of the alien races decided to hunt down the last remnants of Earth for unknown reasons, where the White Whale crash lands on the planet Mira. You take on the role of a customizable character recently initiated into BLADE.

Combat is on foot and on mechas, where the latter involves using “Skels” as they are reminders of Xenosaga.

Skels have a humanoid mode and a vehicle mode.

The game is undergoing the localization process for the North American release.
