Jason Clarke (The Chicago Code, Zero Dark Thirty & The Better Angels) takes up the mantle of John Connor in the newest installment of the Terminator franchise, Terminator Genisys, hitting theaters on July 1. This will serve as a franchise reboot.
No stranger to the incoming and growing criticism towards the movie. Clarke says to “bear with it” for good reason because of the latest trailer for Terminator Genisys. The newest trailer will make Terminator fans go WTF because it shows that Terminator Genisys will be unpredictable.
Jai Courtney (The Water Diviner, Insurgent & I, Frankenstein) takes on the role of Sergeant Kyle Reese, formerly played by Michael Biehn, who goes on a mission into the past to protect Sarah Connor.
It should be remembered that Anton Yelchin played Reese in Terminator Salvation.
Reese and Sarah embrace, where the latter gives birth to John Connor.
Fans know that Connor is the head of the human resistance against Skynet.
This Terminator Genisys version of Kyle Reese travels back to 1984 and learns that history has changed, which leads to the shocking revelation that Sarah Connor was waiting for him. She is accompanied and protected by the original T-800, the Guardian, portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
There is a bit of humor as Sarah reveals that she has been teaching the Guardian to act more “human.”
They are relentlessly pursued by the T-1000, played by Byung-Hun Lee (IRIS & GI Joe), but learn that he’s the least of their worries. Skynet has rigged the “game” even more by apparently capturing John and making him a cross between man and machine.
Now they have to make sure Sarah survives and undo what happened to John.
This is the first time that there is a villainous John Connor, which shares a commonality with the recently released Mortal Kombat X.
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) takes on the role of Sarah Connor, which was originally played by Linda Hamilton. It should be noted that the role was played Lena Headey, Clarke’s fellow Game of Thrones costar, in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
