Emmy award-winning actor Tristan Rogers chatted with Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos about his latest Daytime Emmy nomination for “Studio City” on Amazon Prime for his portrayal of Doc.
“Studio City” was co-created by Sean Kanan and Jason Antognoli, and it is directed by Timothy Woodward Jr.
On his 2021 Emmy nod, Rogers said, “It feels pretty good. The fact that the show ‘Studio City’ won for ‘Outstanding Limited Series’ felt even better. That was a really important win for the show, it really cemented our position that we are not going away and we are only going to get better. That was probably the most important win.”
He acknowledged that filming the final episode this season also “felt good,” especially since they got it all in “one take.” “That’s the way I like to do things, in one take,” he said.
“Doc definitely has a dark side that really hasn’t come out yet,” he added.
Rogers was hailed as “Emmy-worthy” by Digital Journal.
At the moment, he revealed that he has many things going on. “I just started doing a new thing called ‘P.S. After Dark,’ which is a whole different side of me. It’s me being a host of a talk show, and this is the real deal. It’s not a reality-based show. We shot six episodes over the weekend, and they are still being put together. I will be talking a lot about this in the upcoming weeks, it’s a whole different animal,” he said.
For his fans, he concluded about “Studio City,” “The show is somewhat different to the average soap opera that is still around at the moment. We film differently, the stories unfold and develop in a different way. I think it is almost reality-based, the way we go about things.”
“Studio City” is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
