Schulz went on to play an open to close DJ set, which was well-received by all. This show was quite nostalgic, especially since Pacha will be closing its doors next month, in January, after ten years.
It began in an ambient fashion, with an old-school electronic vibe, and it built up into a true dance party. “New York City. Hello,” Schulz said, greeting the Pacha crowd midway through the night.
Schulz had the audience in the palm of his hands, and the electronic tracks he played were addicting and impressive. The disco ball that lit up on the dance-floor at 12:15 a.m. was an added treat. His live show is a substantial indication that his 2012 win for “America’s Top DJ” by DJ Times Magazine was based on merit.
While he ranked No. 56 in DJ Magazine in its 2015 Top 100 DJs poll, all one needs to see is a highlight reel of Schultz’ Pacha show, to prove that he deserves to be a lot higher on that list.

The Verdict
Overall, Markus Schultz put on a fun and high-energy show at Pacha. He had the crowd with him every step of the way, and despite the pouring rain outside the venue, it was a great live DJ set that will be remembered as one of the best final performances at Pacha. Schulz is definitely worth seeing live whenever he is in town.
