Review: Mark Tremonti soars on new rock album ‘Dust’ (Includes first-hand account)

It opens with the spitfire “My Last Mistake,” and it is followed by yet another upbeat track, “The Cage.” Tremonti showcases his tremendous range as an instrumentalist and vocalist on “Once Dead.”

“Dust” is a polished rock ballad, with strong melodies and well-written lyrics, which is one of the two best tracks on the collection. Tremonti picks up the pace with “Betray Me,” and equally noteworthy is the emotional “Tore My Heart Out.”

“Catching Fire” is electrifying, and it immediately breaks into “Never Wrong.” It closes with “Rising Storm” and on a fitting note with the ballad “Unable to See,” where Tremonti’s voice is as impressive as ever.

The Verdict

Overall, Tremonti delivers on his latest studio rock album Dust. This project showcases his growth and maturity as a recording artist, songwriter and guitar player. Dust earns 4.5 out of 5 stars.
