Marina wrote and composed all twelve tracks on the album. It opens with the ethereal “Happy,” and it is followed by the title track tune “Froot.” “I’m a Ruin” is yet another delicate ballad, while “Blue” is a lyrically-powerful uptempo tune.
“Forget” is extremely catchy and radio-friendly, with a liberating message and a calming vibe. “Gold” is equally fun, with its clapping beats. While the empowering “Can’t Pin Me Down” may contain an explicit lyric, it is a well-crafted feminist anthem that will resonate well with her female listeners. “Solitaire” is haunting and distinct due to its electronic nature.
“Better Than That” is uplifting and soothing, while she changes the pace of her record with the bittersweet ballad, “Weeds.” Her vocals are crystalline on “Savages” and it closes with “Immortal,” the latter of which is reminiscent of an Evanescence vocal.
