Review: Jake Miller nostalgic on new ‘Palm Blvd’ music video (Includes first-hand account)

Most impressive about the “Palm Blvd” music video is that it was a labor of love for the 24-year-old musical heartthrob. Miller served as the sole writer and producer of the song, as well as director and editor of the music video. In order to make this video of reality, he watched four hours of archived home video footage, which brought back a feeling of nostalgia for the singer. He declared those “the happiest four hours” of his life, and rightfully so, since he was able to take his fans on a journey to his roots. He went on to dedicate it to his friends and family members. This is the song that Miller claimed as his personal favorite from his new CD, since it deals with the street that he grew up on, and all the adventures and memories he had there.

Miller noted that he was smiling the entire time he made this music video, and he reminds his listening audience to always remember the little child inside of them; moreover, he underscores the importance of not forgetting where one came from, as well as all of the little things that made one who they are. All of the people that were featured in the video, were very important in Miller’s life, and he expressed his gratitude to them by thanking them for a cheery childhood. “Palm Blvd” is a song off his new album, where he is not afraid to showcase his vulnerability as a musician.

Jake Miller’s interview with Digital Journal about his forthcoming show at The Paramount may be seen here.

Speaking of The Paramount, Miller will be playing at the Huntington, New York venue on September 27.
