Q & A chat
Prior to their Future Rave show, before they took the stage, several members of the media/press were fortunate to speak candidly with David Guetta and Morten, and they were both open and generous to share some of their thoughts and insights.
Morten expressed that he is thrilled to try out some of the new music that he and David created for the fans tonight. For Morten, these shows are especially cool since he was “dreaming of performing next to David Guetta” his entire life.
Favorite places to perform live
On his favorite places to perform live, Guetta responded, “I think Ultra, to me, is like the most stressful but also the most exciting. It’s just a matter of the time of the year. Basically, I start a completely new set in Ultra because I try only new stuff on there, and that’s what makes it amazing.”
“This year, Ultra worked really well. Then, I played Las Vegas for two months, and then I played Ibiza,” Guetta added.
Favorite song in his catalog
While for many artists, all of their songs are considered their babies, Guetta listed “Titanium” as his personal favorite record in his own musical catalog.
Key to longevity in music
Regarding the key to longevity in the music business, Guetta remarked, “You take anything that is 20 years old, and you can build from that. I have done that my entire life, and it has worked for me.”
Regarding his definition of the word success, Guetta told this journalist, “That is a deep question. Success, to me, is happiness and just being able to live out of our passion, that is already a big success that we all share here. That is really huge and such a blessing.”
“Being able to do something you love is already a win,” he admitted. “I always wonder why people would not work super hard when they are young to try to do something they are passionate about. I think it’s weird that so many people do something that they are not into. It is easy to invest five years of learning how to do something that can make you happy your entire life.”
David Guetta reflects on the Future Rave show
Following Morten and Guetta’s Future Rave performance at the Brooklyn Mirage, Guetta reflected in a subsequent post on social media, “It’s not often that I do this but when it’s special, it’s special.”
“Tonight, I played, together with my friend Morten, it was so unique, I cannot believe what happened today at the Brooklyn Mirage, it was really amazing, the best crowd, the best possible production, I am shocked. A proper warehouse party in Brooklyn. Wow. Thank you so so much,” Guetta said, effusively.
