Review: Canadian country star Chad Brownlee delights on ‘The Fighters’ CD (Includes first-hand account)

Brownlee co-wrote six out of the CD’s 11 tracks. It was released via his record label, MDM Recordings.

His album begins with his upbeat love tune and latest radio single “When The Lights Go Down.” It is followed by the melodically-stunning “Fallin’ Over You,” which features infectious “woah-oh-oh” hooks.

“The Fighters” is a poignant ballad that will connect with the hearts of his listeners. Brownlee is able to showcase his vulnerability and wide range as an artist on this tune, and listeners ought to have a Kleenex handy.

“Matches” is lyrically powerful with vivid imagery, while “Stay” is more nonchalant and mellow. “Left” is another neat melody and “Hello” is a fun mid-tempo tune.

The echo effect works well on “Let ‘Em Have It,” which is reminiscent of a quintessential Chris Young vocal. “Just Because” was his previous radio single, which reached the Top 12 on the Canadian country charts and “Where The Party At?” was the laid-back lead single of the album.

Brownlee saves one of his best songs for last. “We Don’t Walk This Road Alone” has an inspirational message, and it is a fitting way to close this collection.

The Verdict

Overall, Chad Brownlee does a superb job on The Fighters. Each song on this album has its own identity. There are no filler songs on here. He deserves to be the next big Canadian country super-star.The Fighters garners an A rating.
