On Sunday, May 28, world-renowned electronic dance music superstar Afrojack performed a six-hour set at the Brooklyn Mirage in New York, for a great fan turnout.

This marks Afrojack’s debut performance at the Brooklyn Mirage venue, and it was quite blissful.

In 2022, Afrojack ranked No. 6 in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, while Avant Gardner and Brooklyn Mirage ranked No. 8 in the 2023 Top 100 Clubs list.

He kicked off his DJ set at 8 p.m. sharp with his techno alias Kapuchon, prior to morphing into “Afrojack” several hours later. He stayed in the rhythm throughout the entire course of his six-hour set, and he didn’t miss a single beat.

It was a very vivacious night of music at Brooklyn Mirage. Afrojack had the New York audience with him every step of the way, and his zest for his craft was infectious and admirable.

The bombastic remix of David Guetta, Nicki Minaj, and Bebe Rexha’s “Hey Mama” and “Titanium” received raucous responses, and rightfully so.

Equally noteworthy was Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” with artistic and creative backgrounds on the videoboards. Other fan favorites included “Take Over Control,” “Can’t Stop Me,” “Turn Up the Speakers,” “Hey Brother” (featuring the resonant vocals of Dan Tyminski), and “Ten Feet Tall.” “Make some noise,” Afrojack shouted. “Get your hands up.”

He paid a moving homage to the late but great Avicii with “Wake Me Up,” while Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t You Worry Child” was an added treat. The Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” and Snap!’s “Rhythm is a Dancer” brought elements of nostalgia to this uplifting show.

This journalist’s personal favorite track was Afrojack’s enthralling “Anywhere With You,” featuring Lucas & Steve and DubVision.

His show was highly eclectic (with a blend and mashups of classic hits and newer tracks), as well as a euphoric celebration of electronic music, which encompassed elements of progressive, house, techno, trap, big room house, electro house, and even a hit of trance.

His live concert in Brooklyn garnered two giant thumbs up, and it is highly recommended that one sees him live when he comes to town.

“Afrojack’s show was completely full of energy, and it was so impressive he played nonstop for six hours without going to the bathroom even once. It was so worth it for me to fly back on a redeye from Los Angeles to see this show,” exclaimed Andrew Choe.

“If there is one thing I can say about last night, it’s ‘Wow!’ Afrojack performed a six-hour set featuring nearly every genre of EDM, where there was something there for everyone. Afrojack deserved all the praise he got last night. I knew Afrojack would be an insane show but now I just don’t know how anything will top this,” said Ksawery, fan and attendee.

Afrojack’s latest single “All I Need,” featuring Julian Cross, is available on digital service providers by clicking here.
