Dutch actor Gijs Blom is one of the five nominees for the “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Daytime Fiction Program” 2021 Daytime Emmy Award. Digital Journal’s Markos Papadatos states five reasons as to why he should win the Emmy for “The Letter for the King” on Netflix.

First and foremost, Blom was superb in this portrayal of the villainous Prince Viridian in the six-episode Netflix series “The Letter for the King,” which was written and executive produced by William Davies.

Second, it was a massive production with Netflix backing it; moreover, the cinematography, editing, writing, directing, and special effects of the series were all exceptional.

Next, Blom was able to humanize a manipulative and vindictive character, who was a fictional prince.

After that, he had the most material to choose from (among his fellow nominees) since he appeared in each of the six episodes in the series (where each episode was approximately 45 minutes long).

Finally, he layered his emotions well and his performance ran the gamut. It was controlled, commanding, and exhilirating. Blom blocked it out of the ballpark.
