Review: Pentatonix remarkable on Leonard Cohen’s ‘Hallelujah’ (Includes first-hand account)

Ever since its release, the music video for Pentatonix’s “Hallelujah” has gone viral, and rightfully so. This song deserves to be nominated for a 2017 Grammy award in the a cappella category.

Most impressive about Pentatonix’s version is that they take their time and do not rush, and allow their breathy vocals to do all the talking and storytelling. Leonard Cohen would smile upon this brilliant rendition.

The Verdict

Overall, Pentatonix’s stirring rendition of Hallelujah” is sheer bliss and vocal perfection. It is atmospheric and calming. Their version of this classic garners five out of five stars.
