Kojima Productions is the new game studio and it has already announced that a new game is in the works. The new team includes former members of Kojima Studios and Konami such as Yoji Shinkawa.
Not many details have been revealed but it’s going to be a PlayStation 4 exclusive thanks to a deal with Sony. However it will not be a Metal Gear game since Konami still owns the rights to the series.
The announcement comes a day after it was confirmed that Kojima has left Konami following a year long dispute. News of the breakdown became public when Kojima Studios was removed from all promotional material for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain followed by the controversial decision to cancel Silent Hills.
Many consider the low point in the dispute to be Konami having barred Kojima from accepting his award at the 2015 Game Awards. Many in the gaming industry were quick to denounce Konami including Yoichi Wada, the former executive of Square Enix.
Despite all that has happened, Hideo Kojima has remained silent on the matter or say anything negative about Konami.
