On her new single “Dreamers,” she said, “It’s a song that I wrote a couple of years ago. I started singing it in concert a couple of months ago. I just decided that I would put it out there during this strange time that we are living in. I decided to put a little video together for it. I am very happy with it.”
Collins shared that both her tour with Stephen Stills and her solo tour have been going “great.” “I am having a very good year so far,” she admitted.
In the past, Collins performed in many New York venues, including the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on Long Island. “That was fun,” she said. “It was great. I play them all, and I have a good time.”
On her future plans, she revealed, “More touring.” Each day, Collins is motivated by practicing, writing songs, as well as seeing her friends and meditating.
Over the years, she acknowledged that a lot of things have happened to her. “I am very happy for my good luck and being in the right place at the right time, a lot of the time. We all do the best that we can,” she said.
When asked about the impact of technology in the music business, Collins said, “I don’t think anything. I just go about my business. I just do my work and that’s what I do.”
She noted that she put her collaborative album with Stephen Stills on vinyl. “Everybody seems to love it,” she said. “It is fun.”
On her use of technology in her daily routine, Collins said, “I have always done the same thing. I practice, I write, I meditate and I do concerts and I try to get better. That’s the story of my life.”
The iconic songstress defined the word success as “Getting up this morning and being able to get out of bed.” For aspiring singer-songwriters, Collins said, “Don’t do it unless you love it, because it is way too hard.”
For her fans, Collins concluded about her song “Dreamers,” “Please think about your vote, very hard.”
