Regarding the film Mommy’s Box, he said, “It was a terrific experience. Johnny is such an actor’s director. Obviously he’s also a great actor to work with as well! All of the cast were true pros many being theater actors. Of course working with Joe D’Onofrio is always great. We’ve done four films together.”
For this role, he won “Best Supporting Actor” at several film festivals. “It was such a great surprise! I had won some awards on short films before but winning for a feature from a prestigious festival was amazing! We were winding down our festival run which garnered several awards for the film and I thought well, that was great. Then out of the blue Malibu Film Festival emailed me with the news and I was absolutely over the moon,” he exclaimed.
He praised fellow actors Johnny Greenlaw and Kelly Karavites. “They’re both such huge talents! Kelly is just hysterical in his role and you couldn’t know a nicer guy. Johnny is simply a gifted actor and director. I’ve told him that I’d go anywhere anytime to work with him,” he said.
On his plans for 2017, he said, “I have a great film in pre-production called Iron Terry Malone written by the terrific actor Christian Keiber and his dad Bob, a fine actor in his own right. Christian and I play the lead roles. If you can believe it it’s Cheers meets The Usual Suspects! It’s being directed by Tom Baldinger who also directed Who’s Jenna. Tom is another amazing director. There are a few other pokers in the fire but a bit too soon to speak about.”
When asked what motivates him each day, he said, “Being of service to humanity and committing myself to the highest level of craftsmanship I can achieve.”
He listed Scarlett Johansson as his dream female acting partner, and praised her for being “one of the finest actors around.”
For aspiring actors, he underscored the importance of training, persistence and perspective. “Without all of those you can’t possible be successful and mean it,” he explained.
