Gamers come to GameStop for Fallout 4 (Includes first-hand account)

One such retailer is the GameStop in Santa Clara, as a crowd of 30 gamers have gathered planning to acquire their copy at 9 p.m. Many have pre-ordered months in advance while few came by hoping to reserve their copy at the last minute.

Most are gathered at the center of the store playing Guitar Hero Live for the PlayStation 4 or Mario Kart for the Wii U. Others were on the side sharing what they loved about the series while debating what game was better, Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Few came to buy another game while shocking everyone that they had no interest in Fallout 4. They may be a mystery to the other gamers, but they were not embarrassed nor felt like an outcast.

As the time approached 8:50 p.m., everyone planning to get Fallout 4 were arranged in four groups and waited in a line next to the PlayStation 3 and 4 games. To pass that long 10-minute wait, several gamers started playing the soundtrack to Fallout 3 while the staff passed out free stickers.

The long awaited release of Fallout 4 had made the last 18 hours one of the longest for every gamer waiting in line. When the clock hit 9:00pm, the line started moving and in 15 minutes every gamers had received their copy. After that one only has to wait until the game has installed before venturing into the wasteland on a Next-Gen console.

Fallout 4 is the fifth game in the role playing-game series that follows the journey of a vault dweller in a post-apocalyptic world. The game is set several years after the events of Fallout 3 but before the events of Fallout: New Vegas.
