Chatting with Vinnie Dombroski: Lead singer of Sponge (Includes interview)

On performing at The Paramount, Dombroski said, “It’s great to be here today. am very impressed by the beautiful room, and all this nostalgia.”

At this summer tour, Sponge is sharing the stage with Lit, Everclear and Sugar Ray.

Regarding their 2016 Summerland tour, he said, “This has been a wonderful tour. It’s a great group of bands together and we have had a great attendance over the last dozen dates. What you are hearing tonight are hit songs from the groups. All the bands are sticking to relatively short sets.”

“The longevity is the ability to roll with the different changes,” he said, regarding the key to longevity in the music scene. “We first started by making our own records, without the help of a label, and then the labels got interested. We finance our records through Pledge Music.”

“It’s a great tour. I encourage anybody who loves Sponge, Lit, Everclear and Sugar Ray to really come out. It’s a great package of bands, and you are going to have a great time. We always hang out after the shows and sign autographs with the fans,” he concluded.
