Rising actor and model Andrew Biernat chatted about his latest acting projects and being a part of the digital age.

‘Aileen Wuornos: American Boogeywoman’

He played the role of Mitch in “Aileen Wuornos: American Boogeywoman,” which was directed by Daniel Farrands. “That was a lot of fun,” he admitted. “It was my first real big production that I ever got to do. It was a great learning experience. Watching Tobin Bell work firsthand was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The whole cast and crew was remarkable.”

Holiday film

This past winter, he starred in the new Great American Family holiday film “Christmas in Pine Valley” opposite Kristina Cole. “That was my first time playing a lead role in a film,” he shared.

“I learned a lot on this set,” he said. “Being one of the 18 new Great American Family holiday movies was a surprise to me. I didn’t really know until they announced it, but it was awesome. That new network is doing great.”

“Getting to work with Kristina Cole and Damián Romay was amazing, and he hired me for another film of his where I play the lead again. René Ashton is a wonderful actor as well. Overall, it was a great experience. We had a lot of fun, even though we shot it in Savannah, Georgia, where it was very hot,” he said.

In this movie, Natalie (Kristina Cole) is the owner of a successful farm and homegoods store that garners the attention of a major magazine. The magazine sends a reporter named Josh (Andrew Biernat) to profile Natalie’s company thinking it’s a family-run business. “I had so much fun in this film, and I love Christmas. Everyone in this cast and crew was great too,” he said.

Little does he know that Natalie’s business is run by her with the help of longtime family friends. Knowing how much the article will help struggling farm, Natalie must convince Josh that her “family” and Christmas traditions are all real.

Future plans

He shared his plans for the future. “To continue to get better at my craft,” he said. “I love acting and I’ve had a lot of great opportunities and I hope to continue to get them.”

In his personal life, he is married to Emma Michelle Hertzberg Biernat. “My wife and I got married in Sweden last summer, and we are just trying to live our lives to the fullest. Our wedding experience felt like a fairytale. Everybody at our wedding was present and in the moment. It was amazing,” he said.

“I am definitely obsessed over acting and I am trying to live my own story too,” he added.

The digital age

On being an actor in the digital age, Biernat said, “It’s awesome, there are so many more opportunities. It’s strange with the auditioning process now, because a lot of it involves self-tapes, and that has made it interesting.”

Regarding the title of the current chapter of his life, Biernat said, “Taking care of my dog Lucy.”

Biernat had great words about Emmy award-winning actor and producer Mike Manning (“The Bay,” “Days of Our Lives,” and “This Is Us”). “Mike Manning is awesome. He is a really sweet guy, he is extremely talented, and he is just amazing,” he said.

Success

On his definition of the word success, Biernat said, “Being happy with what you are doing. I have so much fun when I am on set, it’s not even the acting portion, it’s getting to hang out with the cast and crew, and being able to talk to people. As long as acting can do that for me, then that’s a success.”

“Success does not have to do anything with money, it’s about being happy with what I am doing,” he added.

For his fans and followers, Biernat concluded, “Thank you so much for all of the support and love that you have given to me over the years. I am so grateful for it.”
