Brad Rempel from High Valley talks Juno nomination, new label (Includes interview)

This past year, High Valley was named “Vocal Duo/Group of the Year” by the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA). “That was pretty special, since we brought our wives with us to that award show,” he said.

They inked a record label with Atlantic Records Nashville, whose roster includes such country artists as Hunter Hayes and Brett Eldredge. “I am still in shock, but it felt real. We went to Atlantic Records in New York City and played for them, so it must be real,” he said.

They were also nominated for a Juno award for “Country Album of the Year” for their County Line album. “We have been so focused on this U.S. deal that it has been refreshing to get some big news out of Canada, and honestly, it’s a great reminder of where our careers started. The Juno is the biggest thing that Canada has to offer, and we are just thrilled,” Rempel said. “Everybody in country music and Atlantic Records has been amazing to us. The music family has been very supportive,” he added.

On their plans for the future, Rempel said, “We will be going to London, England, where we will be playing the O2 Arena, and we will be opening for Sam Hunt and Carrie Underwood.”
