Review: Jonathan Jackson + Enation rocks on ‘Radio Cinematic’ album (Includes first-hand account)

The CD begins with the soaring and infectious “Young World’s Riot,” where the listener can recall Bono from U2. It instantly grabs the listener’s attention and sustains it for the duration of the album. It is followed by the optimistic single “Everything Is Possible,” where Jackson and his band nail the vocals and instrumentals.

Equally impressive is the piano-driven and haunting ballad “Cinematic,” while “Kicked in the Head” is an up-tempo, rocking number. They change the pace with the crystalline ballad “The Morning of the Rain” and “A Far Away Reality” is a gorgeous piano-driven tune.

They rock out on “Things You’ve Never Seen,” while Jackson belts out the high notes. “I See God in You” is another prime cut, featuring Jonathan’s ethereal vocals. It continues with “The Hands of Your Drug” and the uplifting and catchy “The Future Is Ours.”

“Even the Flames Are Love” is a velvet vocal, and the Amazon edition of the CD features the haunting yet crisp “The Madness of Love,” while Oh Mother” is a simple, yet beautifully sung acoustic ballad, and it closes with “Swallowing Diamonds.”

The Verdict

Overall, Jonathan Jackson + Enation’s Radio Cinematic CD is superb from start to finish. There is a great deal of variety on this project, and one can see their wide range and talent as a band. The synths are incredible, as well as the acoustic and electric guitars, coupled with the moving piano playing and Jackson’s lead vocals. This CD garners 5 out of 5 stars.
