The U.S. Social Security Admin. has released the top baby name numbers for 2012 and for the 14th straight year Jacob is the most used baby boy name in the country. For girls there was also a repeat winner, but it's just the 2nd year in a row for Sophia.
In comparison with other provinces in Canada, Saskatchewan does not have a large population but in recent years that population has been growing. With more people comes more babies needing, naturally, a name.
