Louisville - Louisville's defense is leading the nation in points allowed per game and they came up big again on Thursday night with another solid effort as the eighth ranked Cardinals won a tough ACC game with Rutgers 24-10.

Athens - In the only college football game of the weekend, matching two top-10 schools, Georgia held off LSU 44-41 in a thrilling game between two of the top teams in the nation.

Big 12 Football Scores: (14) Sooners top (22) Notre Dame 35-21

South Bend - Oklahoma quarterback Blake Bell combined for over 290 yards in total offense to help the 14th ranked Sooners defeat Notre Dame for only the second time in school history 35-21.

(19) Florida tops Tennessee, but loses quarterback for season

Gainesville - Florida won their SEC college football opener at home on Saturday, but it wasn't all good news as the Gators lost senior quarterback Jeff Driskel for the rest of the season with a broken leg.

USC's defense leads way in 17-14 victory over Utah State

Los Angeles - USC entered Saturday afternoon's college football game against Utah State knowing they had to stop Aggies' quarterback Chuckie Keeton, but the defense not only slowed down the star quarterback, they harassed him all day as the Trojans won 17-14.

South Bend - In what figured to be one of the better college football games on Saturday, Notre Dame held on to defeat the Michigan State Spartans in a tough defensive battle 17-13.

Raleigh - Clemson's high powered offense was sluggish on Thursday night, but quarterback Tajh Boyd and the Tigers defense were enough to hold off the Wolfpack 26-14 in the ACC opener for both teams.
