HTC has scheduled an event for late next month during which it will announce a new top-tier Android M smartphone. The company has been suffering recently due to low demand for its One M9 flagship device.

As was widely rumoured, Google today announced its new Nexus 5X and 6P smartphones, built by LG and Huawei respectively. The phones are the first devices to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and are intended to show off the best that the platform can offer.

Google has begun sending out press invitations to a San Francisco event later this month where it is widely expected to reveal the next-generation of Nexus-branded smartphones. The highly-anticipated handsets will this year be built by LG and Huawei.
