It's the centenary of the sinking in 1912 of the RMS Titanic and a plan announced by Aussie billionaire Clive Palmer in April to build a new Titanic is still afloat. Palmer has signed a design firm, Finnish-based Deltamarin, and plans are moving forward.

Eino Lindquist survived the sinking of the Titanic - hard for the working class in the bowels of the ship - and went on to live and work in Napa Valley, California. Lindquist died of a stroke in 1958 but is now, at last, being remembered.

The image of the band playing as chaos reigned on the sinking RMS Titanic is one of the images that is indelibly etched onto the imagination of many. Not one of those 8 band members survived the tragedy but a letter written by their leader did.

There were 1,517 people from over a dozen countries who perished in the icy waters of the North Atlantic 100 years ago on April 15, 1912 when the RMS Titanic sunk. At centenary events in N. Ireland and Canada on Sunday there were memorials to honor them.

There's a host of events in 2012 throughout the world to mark the 100 year anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic and pop music isn't going to be left out. MTV announced Feb. 29 they will host a music fest in Belfast, Ireland to honor the ship.

The last supper is more often thought of as the Last Supper, the biblical last supper. But in Galway, Ireland they are recreating the rather lavish last supper onboard the R.M.S. Titanic hours before she sank on April 15, 1912.

The terrible tragedy that is the Costa Concordia took place exactly three months and two days shy of 100 years after the terrible tragedy that is the Titanic. And while the tragedies are different, there are similarities.
