Promotion for the premier of the 1927 epic "Napoleon" began last summer as anticipation has been building. The SF Film Festival held a dress rehearsal for film on Friday, March 23, 2012. The masterpiece by Abel Gance will be at the Paramount Theater in Oakland from March 24 to April 1, 2012.

At certain spots towards the last half hour of the film, parts of the film was not able to be restored and so title cards replaced the missing scenes, providing descriptions of what was lost and to bring the audience to the next scene.
