The Saudi Arabian authorities have sentenced an Australian Mansor Almaribe,45, of Shepparton, to 500 lashes and a year in prison. The Australian, who is a Shiite Muslim, was charged with committing the offense of "blasphemy" while on pilgrimage to Mecca.
