City of Toronto launches ‘Startup Passport’ for entrepreneurs

Startups in partnership with the MaRS Discovery District, Ryerson University’s DMZ, University of Toronto Entrepreneurship and York University will all have access to the new program.

“Toronto has a thriving entrepreneurial community and for these businesses to compete at an international scale, we need to provide them with the right infrastructure to succeed,” said Mayor John Tory in a press release. “The Toronto Startup Passport lowers the barrier of entry for businesses to build their presence outside of Toronto by providing them workspace and access to the WeWork community for programing and networking.”

With this program, startups will have a once-a-month complimentary pass to any WeWork location, access to the WeWork member network app and programming in WeWork spaces and WeWork-offered business services.

Canada-wide, the company has spaces in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
