As reported in Adidas’ press release on July 19, the high fashion uniforms were officially given their first-look appearance Saturday night July 18, at the famed Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach’s Club LIV.
Celebrities and football alum joined in the excitement of the fashion forward festivities.
The University of Miami gear has come into its own as hot styles sought after by those seeking to be part of the most fashionable trends. Now notably seen worn by more than just those with University of Miami roots, “The U’s” logo and green and orange colors have been of late been adorned by celebrities known for setting fashion trends. To help celebrate the launch of the University of Miami’s new football uniforms were DJ Cannon and Pusha T performing, as other celebs and famed football alumni cheered on the new hot look.
Style forward, the Hurricanes’ uniforms have been designed in three colorways of green, orange and white allowing them to be mixed and matched into nine different stylish looks. The uniform as noted “Is highlighted by updated metallic stripes on the jerseys and pants, incorporating hurricane style cuts and patterns throughout the new uniform. Additionally, the “Hurricanes” moniker is strategically placed across the ribbing of the inside collar for the players to see when they don the uniform, while the classic oversized “U” logo is stitched into on the back of the jersey for all to view.”
“The U’s” collaborative efforts with Adidas has produced the new look for the Hurricanes’ football team using Adidas Primeknit technology. With the Adidas TECHFIT technology players will stay cool and play their best with the technologically advanced uniforms that increase range of motion. Comfort is key, which means players will feel at ease to play their very best. In addition, Adidas describes, “The jersey’s padlock system secures tension over the shoulder pads, while the bodymap fit adheres to the player, making it difficult for opponents to grab, hold or tackle”.
No fashion is complete without stylish accessories as well. Adidas, well known for its footwear, has completed the new look with its special adizero 5-Star 4.0 cleats along with adizero 5-Star 4.0 gloves. The cleats and gloves are both adorned with the well-known “U” Logo. Officially the Adidas and University of Miami partnership will begin Sept 1 for the 2015 Hurricanes’ football season, with the uniforms debuting in the season opener game on Sept 5 against Bethune-Cookman.
