Pacquiao says his camp is still negotiating with Mayweather

In a live video chat on posted on his Facebook account, Pacquiao was shown responding to a query from fan about his next fight.

But first he was asked what he would do if he had not been a boxer. “If I am not a boxer, I’m just simple man,” said Pacquiao who was shown inside a moving vehicle while responding to questions from fans.

“I don’t know yet who’s my opponent next but we’re still negotiating right now about the rematch with Floyd Mayweather so hoping for that,” he said.

The questions from fans were inaudible but one question could have been about the chance of getting the fight made and he said, “May chance” (There is a chance). View video in his Facebook post here.

Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum previously denied an ongoing negotiation taking place about the reported rematch, saying Mayweather has retired for good.

“There’s been no negotiations, no discussion and because of the scheduling I don’t think its possible for it even to happen,” Arum told TMZ.com early this month.

While Arum has already announced Pacquiao’s return fight on or before April 2016, he fell short of naming Pacquiao’s next opponent but there has been numerous reports that Terence Crawford of Omaha, Nebraska would possibly be Pacquiao’s next foe.

Crawford is coming off a convincing TKO win over Dierry Jean of Canada last weekend in Omaha, Nebraska.

Other than Crawford, Arum has also included Timothy Bradley, Amir Khan and Kell Brook in his latest list of possible challengers for Pacquiao’s next fight.
