Pacquiao leads ceremonial shoot to kick off shooting tournament

Pacquiao, who is also target shooting enthusiast, was scheduled to do the ceremonial shoot before noon today to kick off the first leg of the shooting competition.

“It’s nice to be back here. Cebu is one of the places I love to visit ever since,” said Pacquiao after arriving in Cebu with lovely wife Jinkee and their youngest son Israel.

After the Cebu competition, the group will head to Pacquiao’s hometown of General Santos City on September 18-20 while the third and final leg will take place on September 25-27 at the Armscor Firing Range in Marikina City.

Aside from boxing, Pacquiao is also into basketball. He is the current head coach of Kia Carnival, a rookie member of the PHilippine Basketball Association (PBA). He also enjoys playing billiard, chess and dart.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao was reported to have been included in the Forbes Asia’s list of 40 Heroes of Philanthropy. along with two other Filipinos that include Diosdado Banatao and PJ Lhuillier.

According to Forbes Asia, Pacquiao’s foundation has awarded scholarships to 200 students and extended $400,000 medical assistance to the sick and needy aside from his contribution for the construction of houses under the housing program of the Habitat for Humanity.

Pacquiao, who is still recuperating from his shoulder injury following his clash with Floyd Mayweather, is set to return to the ring early next year.
