NHL Trade Rumors: Josh Manson to Toronto Maple Leafs?

With a solid group of youngsters on the roster and depth they haven’t had in years, one key move this summer could make this franchise one of the best in the Eastern Conference and a contender for a Stanley Cup in the near future.

Andrew Boehmer of Fan Sided has done some terrific research on the franchise and what is needed to take that next step and to know one’s surprise, finding a top-notch defender tops the list.

There has been plenty of speculation swirling around social media on potential moves the Leafs’ could make this summer and the one that makes the most sense is dealing for Josh Manson.

The 25-year-old has become one of the better young blue line players in the league, but with the Anaheim Ducks looking for more scoring power, moving the former sixth round draft pick could land them the help they need.

With Toronto already having plenty of quality scoring options all across the ice, trading for a tough, but still young bruiser is a move that must be made to take that next step. While Manson isn’t known for his offensive skills, the young man does possess enough skill to lead the point on a power play, but is best when taking on some of the best offensive play-makers in the NHL.

There have been a number of other players linked in trade rumors with Toronto since their season ended in the opening round against Washington, including Christopher Tanev of Vancouver, who was rumored on the move last summer, but for a team on the rise, if a deal is to happen, finding someone with playoff experience would be the best move and that makes Manson the main target in the coming weeks.
