NFL Fantasy Football: Week 8 running back rankings

With 430 yards rushing in the last three games and two touchdowns this past weekend against Cleveland, Gurley has transformed the Rams offense and the favorite for Rookie of the Year, but for fantasy football owners that gambled on the 21-year-old before the season began, the reward has been tremendous.

The Rams face San Francisco on Sunday and with the troubles the 49ers defense has had in recent weeks, expect another big game from the youngster and if he can find the end zone again, 20 points is attainable.

Another player who has burst onto the scene is Devonta Freeman of Atlanta. The Falcons second-year player from Florida State has over 100 yards in four of the teams last five football games and with 34 receptions on the year, has become one of the best duel-threat running backs in the NFL.

Freeman faces Tampa Bay in week 8 and according to Bleacher Report, should be the highest-scoring back in fantasy football this weekend — not bad for a player that was available off the waiver wire in most leagues after the first week of the season.

Chris Ivory hasn’t gained much attention this year, but with over 500 yards rushing and four touchdowns, he’s become a must-star player for any owner. This week he and the NY Jets face Oakland and while the Raiders have played much better in 2015, they still are young and struggle against good offenses.

Waiver wire help this late in the year is tough, especially at running back, but with the injury bug hitting the league, Chris Polk of Houston and Charcandrick West of Kansas City are the two best options in week 8.
