NCAA Football Rankings: Big 10 heating up heading into week 7

The scarlet and grey aren’t the only program from the Big 10 making some noise in 2015 as Michigan State continues to win football games and sits fourth with a 6-0 record. Both programs have big games next Saturday and with 15 schools sitting with zero losses, every week at this point in the season is a playoff game.

Baylor is running up scoring numbers at numbers never seen before in the game. The Bears are averaging over 60 points per game in 2015 and until a defense can find someway to slow this group down, it will take a big effort from any school to knock them off the second spot in the latest polls.

TCU is another program that is winning with a high-powered offense. The Horned Frogs have one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and are one of three schools in the Big 12 with an undefeated record. TCU is third in the latest Amway Poll, but with plenty of football left in the year, it’s still anyone’s guess which four programs will play in the College Football Playoffs in January.

LSU is the top school from the SEC through six weeks as the Tigers are now fifth overall. With the best running back in the game and some great athletes on both sides of the ball, it wouldn’t be a shock to see this program run the tables, but they will need to find more consistency in the passing game if they want to stay unbeaten.

Clemson, Utah, and Florida State are all doing their part to stay in the playoff chase. These three schools have all played terrific football in 2015, but must remain without a loss for a shot at winning an NCAA title. With so many teams playing great, one loss could knock these programs out of contention.
