NBA Trade Rumors: Greg Monroe to Golden State Warriors?

Despite the big move by the front office, this team lost its two best big men and have a big hole in the paint. Zaza Pachulia was added to give the team some size down low, but his production is limited and that leaves the team just one injury away from not having a true center on the roster. This could possibly ruin any chance this franchise has of taking back the title from Cleveland.

Over the last month, several sources have speculated on moves management could make to help the cause. Sports Illustrated has reported Greg Monroe of Milwaukee is back on the trading block and Yibada has suggested the Warriors could be a landing spot for the big man.

It is a bit intriguing that a team would want to move a player that has averaged over 14 points and nine rebounds per game during his career, but the Bucks expected a bigger contribution when they acquired the former first round pick last year and it seems team chemistry has also suffered, leaving the organization with just one move left, trade the seven-footer now and get something in return.

It was also reported Golden State has interest in Anthony Davis, but the price tag for the youngster wold be much higher and cost the Warriors some much-needed depth from their current squad. Monroe on the other hand could be dealt for a player like Shaun Livingston and a couple future draft choices, keeping the core group of players together and adding the big man this team needs.

The upcoming NBA season has fans excited, despite experts predicting Durant and his new team will roll through the year and hoist a trophy at seasons end. If the playoffs from last season proved anything, size still does matter and adding a player like Monroe could be key to winning a second title in three years.
