Klitschko stakes heavyweight titles against Tyson Fury Oct. 24

Klitschko (64-3-0, 53 KOs), is coming off a unanimous decision win against Bryant Jennings last April at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

The 39-year-old Ukrainian has won 21 straight fights since losing to Lamon Brtewster in 2004.

The proposed Klitschko-Fury fight negotiations have been ongoing for weeks but the parties could not come to mutually beneficial agreement.

This has led the sanctioning WBA to order a purse bid to take place on July 6 in Panama. The order must have encouraged the parties to agree on the terms to skirt the WBA order.

“Done deal,” said Klitschko on his Twitter account. “Looking forward to the fight on October 24th.”

Fury (24-6-0, 18 KO’s), who secured his 24th straight win against Christian Hammer at the O2 Arena in London last February, is confident he will beat Klitschko.

“Don’t matter where this fight is, Ukraine, Deutschland, Japan, it will be the same outcome,” Fury said on his Twitter account on Monday. “The Gypsy King will come out of this fight as the best heavyweight on the planet.”

Klitschko stands 6’6″ with a reach of 81″ while Fury is taller by 3″ at 6’9″ with a reach of 85″.

The heavyweight bout will take palace at the Esprit Arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
