Highlight of the Week: DeAndre Jordan posterizes Greg Monroe

We’ve all been honoured to see Jordan make highlight reel plays thanks to his big hops and assist-friendly teammates. Now we have seen what could be the dunk of the year…so far.

In Wednesday’s matchup between the Bucks and Clippers, the first quarter was treated to this gorgeous play: Tied 10-10, Clippers PG Chris Paul ran down the court, meandered between Bucks defenders, drawing in three players. He then spotted Jordan sprinting towards the paint and fed him the ball. The Bucks center Greg Monroe tried to take a charge, but it was too late: Jordan leapt high and threw down a monstrous dunk over Monroe, and got fouled to earn himself a three-point play.

Welcome to another DeAndre Jordan poster, Greg.

It’s almost as if Jordan threw the ball in rather than slamming it in the net. No matter the technique, the Clippers bench erupted with excitement after this huge dunk. Jordan looked intensely pleased by this wild play, as his teammates crowded around him to show him some love.

Jordan ended up with nine points, three blocks and a whopping 19 rebounds. The Clippers beat the Bucks 109-95 thanks to J.J. Reddick’s 31 points.

Jordan has been making Top 10 plays throughout the 2015 season. Just two days ago, Jordan threw down a pretty lop pass from Paul versus the Timberwolves:

Jordan also showed his range in a game versus the Magic on Dec. 6, snagging a mid-air lob and reverse dunking with zero fenders around him:
