Diego de la Hoya gears up for 5th straight win this year

The young De la Hoya (12-0-0, 7 KOs) is fighting for the fifth time this year and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jesus Ruiz Sept. 4 at the Belasco Theater, Los Angeles, California to bag the WBC Youth Super Bantamweight title.

The fight is scheduled for eight rounds and will be televised live on Estrella TV at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT with live streaming on Ring TVLive.com. Click here to view details of coverage.

At 21, Diego has an impressive amateur background and has been known in the ring for his being a natural aggressor. His cousin Oscar is very much impressed with his fighting style.

“He’s very good. He’s a people-pleaser,” Oscar De La Hoya said. “He loves fighting. And when he gets hit, you can see the fire in his eyes. He wants revenge. He reminds me of me,” he added.

The “Golden Kid” is unbeaten in 12 professional fights since he turned pro in 2013 after an impressive 250 amateur bouts. He was also a Mexican National Olympics Silver medalist.

Giovanni Delgado (15-3-0, 9 KOs), is coming off a unanimous decision loss against Joseph Diaz last May after a long layoff form boxing.

Delgado, who hails from Tacubaya, Distrito Federal, Mexico had an impressive two-year winning streak since he turned pro in 2010.
