Arum, who promotes both Bradley and Vargas, believes Bradley will be the best fight for Mayweather when the unbeaten champ returns to the ring for his retirement fight on Sept. 12.
“They want Bradley in Dubai to fight Sadam Ali, that’s a great possibility. And listen, I think of all the guys around he’d make the best fight for Mayweather,” said Arum after the Bradley-Vargas fight.
For his part, Bradley said, he looks forward to fighting Mayweather but he’s uncertain about his plan for his retirement fight.
“Floyd’s the best in the business. I would love the opportunity to face Floyd Mayweather, but you know Floyd does what he wants,” Bradley told Fighthype. “He’s the cash cow of boxing. He’s the king right now and I respect that,” he added.
Mayweather has recently named two possible opponents for his retirement fight. They include Andre Berto and Karim Mayfield.
A Mayweather-Bradley match would be a good alternative to a Mayweather-Berto fight or a Mayweather-Mayfield fight as Bradley has more popular support from fans than Berto or Mayfield, following his recent exposure with elite fighters like Manny Pacquiao, Juan Manuel Marquez and Ruslan Provodnikov.
Mayweather is coming off a unanimous decision win against Manny Pacquiao last May 2 while Bradley is fresh off a unanimous decision win against Jessie Vargas last Saturday.
