2016 NFL Schedule: Preseason week 3

Fans will get a good luck at the regulars and a better idea of what players will make the opening day roster. Here’s a look at he top story lines for this weeks games and what teams need to make a statement heading into the regular season opener.

Thursday night has Seattle hosting Dallas, a game that could feature two teams that represent the NFC in the playoffs this season. The Cowboys are looking to put last season in the rear view mirror and seem to have found their leader of the future in rookie signal caller Dak Prescott, but Tony Romo is still searching for that first Super Bowl ring and with the weapons this offense has around him, this could be the year ‘America’s Team’ finally makes a run at winning another title.

The Seahawks have proven to be one of the top teams in the league over the last few years. The offense is in good hands with Russell Wilson leading the way, but finding some stability in the backfield is a key heading into week one. This game will give the offensive line a good challenge and give Seattle fans a better idea of where this team stands heading into the 2016 NFL season.

Saturday night will give Denver Broncos coaches and their fans a good look at veteran Mark Sanchez and youngster Trevor Siemian as they battle to become the starting quarterback. Both players have looked solid this preseason and performing well against a solid LA Rams defense will likely determine who will get the nod for the season opener.

Los Angeles is looking to improve on the offensive side of the ball and get Todd Gurley ready for the upcoming football season. Playing against last years Super Bowl champions will be a terrific test for one of the youngest teams in the league and after two fourth quarter comebacks the last two games, a quick start wold be a welcome change for a squad looking to become a playoff contender.
