Ecuador's Correa claims victory

Ecuador's presidential candidate Rafael Correa's political movement has claimed victory in Sunday's run-off election.
Three exit polls indicated the leftist economist had gained around 57% of the vote while conservative Alvaro Noboa polled about 43%.
Despite this, Noboa is insistent that he won and will ask for a recount if necessary.
I hope Correa wins. I've been following this election. Noboa is the richest man in Ecuador and seems very self-involved. I have the feeling he is backed by the US, however, because Correa is staunchly opposed to any free trade agreements with the US. Correa is also friends with Hugo Chavez.
