Kendricks won the 13th annual Domspringen competition with a clearance of 5.80 meters. There were 5,000 fans in attendance. He left last year's winner, German athlete Tobias Scherbarth, in second place with 5.60 meters, and Polish pole vaulter Pawel Wojciechowski in third place with 5.60 meters respectively.
This marks an incredible end to a superb 2017 pole vault season for Kendricks, where he was undefeated in every pole vault meeting. This summer, he also set a personal best of 6.00 meters at the U.S. Championships, where he joined the elite six meter club.
Prior to Domspringen, he won the IAAF World Challenge in Berlin, and he won the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships in London with 5.95 meters; moreover, he was named 2017 Diamond League Champion.
