The 2015-16 basketball season is over for the Boston Celtics after losing in six games to Atlanta in the opening round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs, but despite the loss, things are looking good for the franchise as summer approaches.

General manager Danny Ainge has several picks at his disposal in June's NBA Draft and room under the salary cap to lure a big name free agent, but recent reports have the front office maybe looking in a different direction to get the help they need in the front court.
Rumors have surfaced on social media about the availability of Sacramento big man DeMarcus Cousins, who is reportedly on the trading block once again. The 25-year-old has had several issues with the Kings, both on and off the court and it could be time to move on with a change of scenery.
Fox Sports has reported that Boston is one of a handful of teams that would have interest in the 6'11" center and for good reason. The fifth overall pick in 2010 has averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds per game for his career, not bad numbers considering he hasn't had much help since entering the league.
This past season Cousins averaged a career high 26.9 points and just over ten boards per game. The young center has the ability to control the paint on both ends of the court and a move to a franchise with more talent, could make him a candidate for an MVP award before his career is finished.
Boston is one of the few teams in the NBA that has the resources to make a big trade. With a good group of young players, they could easily trade three or four picks in June to acquire Cousins, a move that would immediately make this franchise a challenge with Cleveland and Toronto as the top team in the East and a public relations move that would generate plenty of excitement with the fans in Boston, making this a win-win situation for both franchises as they look to improve on this past season.
