This invitation was made by country superstar Reba McEntire, who surprised the country quartet during their performance of their Grammy-winning single "Pontoon," while they played the historic venue on Friday night.
The acclaimed country songstress walked out on stage, and sang the lyrics "motor-boating" with them, and subsequently noted how important the venue has been for them as a vocal group, since it marked the first place they performed together as a group back in 1999. She then asked the question as to whether or not, the group would like to become members of the Grand Ole Opry, a statement which got all four band members emotional, and Reba embraced all four members on their latest milestone. This pleasant announcement was well-received by the audience.
Little Big Town will officially be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on October 17 by Country Music Hall of Famer Vince Gill. They are out on tour with such country acts as Brett Eldredge and Brothers Osborne.
Their forthcoming studio album Pain Killer will be out on October 21, via their record label, Capitol Nashville.
