According to Gawker, the 34-year-old woman, Ginny Griffith, set a pile of towels on fire in an attempt to catch and then kill the spider last Friday.
According to Huffington Post, the fire department had to intervene, and they managed to get the fire under control. They said that the fire had multiple points of origin.
According to IBNLive, nobody was injured, nor was there no damage, except for light smoke damage. However, Griffith was arrested and charged with aggravated arson. Authorities say that the other side of the duplex was occupied.
Griffith was being detained at the Reno County jail, and her bond was set at $7,500.
