Atlanta Falcons Rumors: Chris Johnson the best option at RB?

2013 was supposed to be the year the Atlanta Falcons finally made a trip to the Super Bowl, but injuries and inconsistent play on both sides of the ball made it a long year for the team and its fans.

Steven Jackson was added last off-season to handle the running game, but the former St Louis Rams star saw more time on the injured list then on the field and it hurt the overall production of the offense.
Rumors have started that the front office won't make that same mistake and adding another back before the start of the 2014 NFL season is now a priority. Sterling Xie of Bleacher Report has suggested that recently released Chris Johnson is the answer and it makes sense.
Johnson has rushed for at least 1,000 yards every year he's been in the league, but his production has slipped. The 28-year-old has something to prove and a stop with the Atlanta Falcons could be the answer, especially if Jackson falters again.
The former first round pick could choose to play for a team like the NY Jets, but if winning is a priority, choosing a team that has played in the NFC Championship just two years ago could be the best move for the veteran at this stage of his career.
