Anel Baez suffered 65 fatal stab wounds at her home in Guamúchil, Mexico home on March 19. Police have accused her best friend, 16-year-old Erandy Elizabeth Gutierrez, of the murder.
Gutierrez, who had referred to Baez as "her sister" in the past, allegedly took nude photographs together with Baez, whom then posted the photos to Facebook.
Police suspect Gutierrez's motive was being humiliated by the public release of the photos.
Baez invited Gutierrez over to her home on March 19 to discuss their situation. After asking to go to the bathroom, Gutierrez instead went to the kitchen and procured a knife.
Gutierrez was furious enough to post threats on other social media sites. On Feb. 23, Gutierrez posted to Twitter: "It may seem that I am very calm, but in my head I have killed you at least three times."
Gutierrez was arrested three days after the incident at Baez's funeral. Police are expected to press charges later this week.
