Both singer-songwriters will serve as mentors on "Boot Camp," a new segment of the competition which will be overseen by former Idol judge and in-house mentor Randy Jackson.
Lambert noted his excitement on Twitter for being a part of this year's American Idol season, which features Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. as judges. "Had a Blast mentoring on @AmericanIdol can't wait for u all to see it this week!" he exclaimed via a tweet, and he posted a short YouTube video clip of next week's show.
The gracious musician also wished his dedicated fans a "Happy Valentine's Day" via an Instagram post, which affectionately stated "I love you Glamberts."
It was also revealed in an interview last week on BBC Radio 2 that Brian May, the legendary guitarist of Queen and drummer Roger Taylor, may be going on tour with Lambert this summer.
Lambert collaborated with two of Queen's surviving members for one song on the American Idol finale in 2009, and he subsequently played showed with the iconic rock group in 2011, 2012 and most recently in 2013, at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, all of which were well-received.
"We've been talking to Adam Lambert," Brian May remarked in his interview with BBC Radio 2. "You know, we've already done some gigs with Adam, who is amazing. We (Queen) are ongoing, we can't help it. I think we all protested too much in the sense when Freddie went and we didn't want to talk about it and didn't want to be Queen for a while," he added.
With all of these great news, it is safe to say that Adam Lambert is indeed living the "American dream," as it was previously reported by Digital Journal.
The 32-year old Grammy-nominated singer is also a supporter of the We Are Family Foundation.
