Talking to CNN Biden said in an interview on Friday that there was: "no obvious reason for me why I think I should not run.”
At the moment former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the biggest favorite to be the Democratic Party's nominee with polling suggesting she would gain 73% of the vote in a hypothetical primary in 2016, to overturn this Biden would need strong policies to bridge the gap.
The Vice President has run for President of the United States twice before in 1988 and 2008, in the former he was wrapped up in allegations of plagiarism and in '08 he was unsuccessful again before being tapped by Obama to be his running mate after scoring the Democratic nomination.
As reported by CBS, Biden stoked speculation of a 2016 run after making a speech to the United Auto Workers in which he said driving the new Corvette Z06 would stop him from taking on the role: “There’s a lot of reasons to run for president, but there’s one overwhelming reason not to run for president: I’d like to get that Z06 from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds!”
