Shock jock Howard Stern peppers Matt Lauer with wet kisses
Matt Lauer seemed a tad uncomfortable as radio legend and popular shock jock Howard Stern laid smooches on him Thursday.
Some might even say Lauer was startled by the unusual circumstance that included his large, hairy guest kissing him on the face before a national television audience - but, after all, it was Lauer's show, and everybody knows that Stern has amassed a fortune startling audiences.
Stern, 58, was on the "Today" morning talk show to promote the new season of NBC's "America's Got Talent," but Lauer seemed woefully unprepared when Stern crawled up in his lap and peppered him with cheeky kisses.
"You know, you look good. I'm honored to be on the 'Today' show. I never get to be on the 'Today' show
," Stern told Lauer, who nervously adjusted himself in his seat.
"Matt and I are personal friends,” Stern told the TV audience. “We sit at my house, we drink wine, and we evaluate the show. We're in a competition with 'Good Morning America.' We have to win."
Lauer desparately attempted to blow off Stern's personal description of their wine-sipping relationship by transitioning into a commercial break. "Oh, look at the time!" exclaimed Lauer.
But instead of taking Lauer's time-out que, Stern climbed onto Lauer's lap and began kissing him repeatedly.
"Come here, you dog, you," he said between smooches. "C'mon, baby."
After the commercial break, an obviously disheveled Lauer claimed he and Stern “do not discuss the ‘Today’ show.” Lauer did not comment on the wine-sipping or any other intimate aspects of their relationship.
