When the Zac Brown Band heads to Moline, IL in August, it will be a headline act. It comes at the iWireless Center in Moline (The Quad Cities), which is nestled nicely along the banks of the Mississippi River.
On tour now.
On tour now.
The concert is August 3 and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 21. The band's in currently on the road so head to their website to see if they will be coming to your area.
Also in the Quad Cities at the Adler Theater in Davenport, Iowa, tickets are now on sale for a band who, perhaps, has a different fan base. Nickelodeon's The Fresh Beat Band will play the Adler Oct. 19, but tickets are already on sale. A sign of their popularity, no doubt.
Now, back to Zac for a moment. The band has been a hot act for a some time and now, the breakout is here. Meanwhile, fans of Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney seem to congregate to this band as well. "We've got a great following," Brown said on the band's website.
The band:
Zac Brown - Lead Vocals & Guitar
Jimmy De Martini - Violin, Vocals
John Driskell Hopkins - Bass, Vocals
Coy Bowles - Guitar, Organ
Clay Cook - Guitar, Organ, Mandolin, Pedal Steel, Vocals
Chris Fryar -Drums
With success come hard work and hitting the road as this band has done. Now, that hard work has payed off as the band now headlines, even though they did briefly along the way. They have shared the bill with Dave Matthews Band for dates on their summer 2010 stadium tour, Kings of Leon for special guest appearances in the UK, and Kenny Chesney for several stadium stops across the country in 2011. That was part of Kenny Chesney's "Goin' Coastal Tour" starring Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band.
"There's no way to predict how fast everything is going to come together," adds Brown. "Or that it took 13 years to get to the beginning of it."
By the way, this is one band that doesn't just cater to one musical niche. Besides country, they also attract bluegrass, reggae and more.
They have been called "road warriors" and that has proved to be a ticket to success as well. When one attends their current tour, it will include a newly-unveiled stage. It extends the front row experience to more fans.
Meanwhile the Zac Brown Band recently hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards televised Fan Jam at Mandalay Bay. in Las Vegas.
For fans, look for a very popular event to continue when they stop in Moline. They will be continuing with their Eat & Greet tradition. Sponsored by Kingsford Charcoal and features Southern Ground Executive Chef Rusty Hamlin. Featured along with Hamlin is "Cookie" - the band's custom mobile kitchen.
The band has 10 Grammy, CMA, and ACM awards, and another four CMA nominations for the full band this year (six for Brown himself) and an ACM Award Nomination for Vocal Group of the Year.
Ticket prices are $45; $59.50 and $69.50 with $64.50 General Admission Floor. Again, the show is Aug. 3 at the iWireless Center in Moline, IL. Also on the bill are Sonia Leigh and Nic Cowan.
